About Liz Bryson
Liz Bryson, an Ellensburg resident, spent more than six years
covering local and statewide issues while working as a reporter
for the Yakima Herald-Republic and the Ellensburg Daily Record.
Prior to moving to Washington, she was a reporter for the Arizona
Daily Star in Tucson. She graduated with a creative writing degree
from the University of Arizona.
Some of her most significant coverage included the Interstate
90 reconstruction project, the statewide gas tax, a 10-day series
on the changing West, Kittitas County's water rights, Suncadia
resort's expansion, growth and land issues throughout the county,
and the deadly Thirtymile fire, which killed four local firefighters
in 2001.
Her stories have been repeatedly picked up by the Associated
Press and distributed throughout the country. Bryson's coverage
has also appeared in the Seattle Times and The Oregonian.
Liz's other activities include working as a part-time editor and writer for
Central Washington University's Public Relations and Marketing Department,
volunteering for Gallery One Visual Arts Center, writing articles for
Mid-Columbian magazine, teaching writing courses at Gallery One, and
helping local nonprofits with media relations. She is a former Ellensburg Film
Festival, Gallery One, and Generations of Ellensburg board member.
