About Liz Bryson
Liz Bryson, an Ellensburg resident, spent more than six years
covering local and statewide issues while working as a reporter
for the Yakima Herald-Republic and the Ellensburg Daily Record.
Prior to moving to Washington, she was a reporter for the Arizona
Daily Star in Tucson. She graduated with a creative writing degree
from the University of Arizona.
Some of her most significant coverage included the Interstate
90 reconstruction project, the statewide gas tax, a 10-day series
on the changing West, Kittitas County's water rights, Suncadia
resort's expansion, growth and land issues throughout the county,
and the deadly Thirtymile fire, which killed four local firefighters
in 2001.
Her stories have been repeatedly picked up by the Associated
Press and distributed throughout the country. Bryson's coverage
has also appeared in the Seattle Times and The Oregonian.
Liz's other interests and hobbies include being an active member
of the local organization, Generations, assisting the Ellensburg
Downtown Association as a public relations committee board member,
restoring her 1966 Ford Mustang, exploring the Pacific Northwest,
devouring lots of books, challenging herself in the culinary arts,
hosting fabulous parties, slowly perfecting her Spanish, and most
importantly, enjoying the company of those around her.
